Live in shared flat… any quiet methods?

Here are some practical, low-key ways to clean larger sex toys in a shared flat without drawing attention (most people do this exact thing in shared housing, so don’t overthink it):

  1. Clean them in your own room (best option)
    • Get a big bowl, pitcher, or even a clean storage bin that lives under your bed.
    • Fill it with warm water + mild soap (or toy cleaner) in the bathroom when no one’s around, carry it back to your room, shut the door, and wash there.
    • Rinse with a water bottle or a second bowl of clean water. Dry with a dedicated towel you keep in your room.
(Zero sink time = zero suspicion).

  2. Use the shower when you’re alone
    • Take the toy in with you in a wash bag/toiletry bag.
    • Wash it normally while you’re showering (the running water covers any noise).
    • Dry it in the shower, wrap in your towel, and walk back to your room. Looks exactly like you’re just carrying shampoo etc.

  3. Bathroom sink at off-peak times
    • Wait until 2-3 a.m. or whenever the flat is asleep removed link
    • Bring the toy in a nondescript bag (gym bag, grocery bag, laptop case).
    • Wash quickly, dry thoroughly with paper towels (flush them) or your own towel, and leave. Takes 2-3 minutes max.

  4. Dishwasher trick (if your flat has one and you’re brave)
    • Only works with 100% silicone, steel, or glass toys (no motors).
    • Put it in a mesh laundry bag or wrapped in a dark sock, hide it among the dishes on the top rack at night, no detergent needed if you just run a rinse cycle.
    • Risky if someone unloads, but almost zero noise.

  5. Extra stealth accessories that help
    • Buy a toy cleaner spray (Intimate Earth, Wicked, etc.) – you literally just spray, wipe with a damp cloth in your room, done. No water needed.
    • Keep a pack of unscented baby wipes in your drawer for quick clean-ups.
    • UV sanitizing bag (looks like a clutch purse or laptop sleeve) – toss the toy in for 5–10 min and it’s sterilized with zero water or noise.

  6. General rules to stay undetectable
    • Always transport in an opaque bag.
    • Never leave them drying on a radiator or windowsill.
    • Have a locked drawer or storage box (many toy brands sell lockable cases that look like cosmetic boxes).

Most people in shared flats just do #1 or #2 and nobody ever notices.
You’ve got this!
